What's New in QF Solver 0.2.8

Status: published release Publication: v0.2.8

This summary describes the published 0.2.8 release. It does not create a maturity promotion beyond the linked records.

Current additions and clarified routes

  • The active element-analysis registry is consolidated at 32 QUALIFIED_BOUNDED, 14 EXPERIMENTAL, 0 NOT_QUALIFIED across 46 combinations.
  • Connected conforming serial mixed TET4/WEDGE6/HEX8 static, modal, translational-MPC and multi-material workflows have separate QUALIFIED_BOUNDED records.
  • Mixed Newmark and mixed harmonic workflows are separate EXPERIMENTAL_BOUNDED linear dynamic records with documented serial scopes.
  • A bounded Abaqus/CalculiX .inp subset is available as an experimental fail-closed importer; it is not full format compatibility.
  • Family-aware mixed HDF5 result storage is available as an opt-in experimental schema-v1.0 route with bounded round-trip and selective-read evidence.
  • Frictionless penalty node-to-triangle contact and HEX8-SRI remain separate bounded experimental capabilities.
  • The public API and installation surface now distinguish stable, provisional, internal and optional-dependency boundaries explicitly.

Explicitly not included as a success claim

WP13-01C did not validate the mixed distributed PETSc/MPI runtime. Its status remains NOT_VALIDATED: physical force-balance and three-rank/partition gates failed. The architecture foundation and partial two-rank observations do not create a distributed mixed or general HPC claim.

PYRAMID5, geometric nonlinear discovery and high-order mixed-interface feasibility remain internal or research-only routes. General nonlinear mechanics, frictional or finite-sliding contact, MPI mixed dynamics and universal scalability are outside this candidate's public scope.
